Ruta 2010: Mexico
We decided to take the central route through Mexico, which is at a higher elevation. The result was we avoided the heat for the majority of the trip. In fact, we were much more comfortable temperature wise than driving through Oregon where temperature hit 113 degrees.
We cross into Agua Prieta on August 22 then headed south stopping at Neuvo Casas Grandes, Gomez Palacio, Patzcauro, and Cuernavaca. After four days driving we arrived in Oaxaca where we spent three days. After resting we crossed the Isthmus of Tehuantepec and onto San Cristobal de Las Casas for two nights. All along the route we saw signs announcing 2010. 2010 will be two hundred years since Mexico’s independence. The i-movie captures some images along Ruta 2010.
